Our nurses carry out a wide range of advice and services including Minor Illness, Nurse Prescribing, health checks and immunisations. They are also responsible to the doctors for the running of the Asthma, Blood Pressure, COPD, Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetic Clinics. All clinics are by appointment only.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Practice Management

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

The receptionists will arrange appointments either with the doctor or nurse, will take requests for home visits and arrange for repeat prescriptions.

Attached Staff

The Community Midwife works with the doctors and other professionals in the Practice to provide antenatal care and to visit mothers at home following the birth of their baby.

A Health Visitor is available to help with health matters relating to all ages, but specialising in the under 5s.

District Nurses carry out a wide range of duties in the community. The doctors will arrange for you to see a district nurse if it is thought appropriate.

We also have Mental Health Practitioners & Counsellors who attend weekly.
