Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Where possible, patients should attend surgery for a medical consultation.

Where the patient is genuinely too ill or infirm to travel a home visit can be arranged. Requests for a home visit should be made between 09:00 and 10:30.

The receptionist will ask for some details of the illness in order to enable the doctor to assess the priority of the call.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
